Europe is a continent without a voice, the stories we read, whether they be news, movies, series are all filtered through an American and British lens. The way we learn about each other’s cultures and politics is through that of another’s perspective and value judgements. “The frustration of having my understanding filtered by a cultural outlook that was not my own led me to start Into Europe in 2020″, says Hugo Bezombes of Into Europe.

“Using animation I tell stories about European politics, geopolitics and culture to explain the world from a European perspective. I’ve explained the European Union using restaurants, looked into why Russia wants Ukraine, and taken a deep dive into the EUs broken migration policy. In the future, I hope to go on location to tell European stories from where they are, and bring Europe closer to Europeans.”
