This year we will celebrate our EUROPE DAY in Tordesillas, a municipality in the province of Valladolid with approximately 8773 inhabitants. It is the most important town in the region of Tierra del Vino in Valladolid, and is bathed by the fertile plain of the Duero River.

We will have the collaboration of the Tordesillas City Council and the LAG Central Zone of Valladolid.

We believe it is particularly important to transfer European values to the small rural municipalities of our Autonomous Community. This year our activities will revolve around the 40th anniversary of Spain’s accession to the European Union.

THE ACTIVITIES

1.- ACTIVITIES IN SCHOOLS EUROPE DAY 2026

1.1.- EUROPE DAY 2025 COMPETITIONS

We invite the primary school students of the CEIP PEDRO I and the Colegio Divina Providencia in Tordesillas and the secondary students of the IES JUANA I DE CASTILLA, IES ALEJANDRÍA and Colegio Divina Providencia, in Tordesillas, to share their ideas on Europe Day and the 40th Anniversary of Spain’s accession to the European Communities EEC. through a free technique drawing or photography according to the rules of the competitions that can be consulted at this link: https://edcastillayleonrural.eu/concursos-dia-de-europa-en-tordesillas-2026/

The winners of the Competitions will receive a diploma and a gift, at the event that will take place on May 8, in the main square of the town.

In addition, all participants will automatically go to the Regional Phase of the PHOTOGRAPHY AND DRAWING CONTEST: “SPAIN IN THE EU 40TH ANNIVERSARY”

1.2.- WORKSHOPS EUROPE WEEK 2026

We will carry out several workshops for primary education and ESO, adapted to the age and educational level of the participants, in the centers CEIP PEDRO I, COLEGIO DIVINA PROVIDENCIA, IES JUANA I DE CASTILLA, and IES ALEJANDRÍA

The aim of these workshops is to provide the children and young people involved with a theoretical background on the European Union and the importance of belonging to the Union and feeling European. The contents that will be shown will be adapted to the indicated levels of the participants in the form of presentations, activities and/or educational games. During the workshops we will make a European badge that will serve as an emblem to take to the Institutional Act on May 8 that will take place in the Plaza Mayor to celebrate Europe Day with all the authorities and public present.
