Petition: Make May 9 A National Day Off in the Netherlands

Let’s make Europe Day a day off throughout Europe, starting in the Netherlands, to celebrate peace, freedom and prosperity, and to strengthen the sense of Europe in the hearts and minds of all citizens. The world is getting smaller and Europe is getting closer and closer. Let’s celebrate a united Europe with a common holiday! And do you know that the Netherlands has the fewest public days off of all 27 EU countries? We only have 8, while for example Belgium has 9, France 11 and Germany 12.
