Open Day at the Historical Archives of the European Union
By Historical Archives of the European Union
On the occasion of Europe Day, the Historical Archives of the European Union welcomes the public to Villa Salviati for a day full of guided visits, historical readings and reenactments, music, art and activities for people of all ages.
The Historical Archives of the European Union (HAEU), located at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy, preserves and makes accessible the archival heritage of the European Union. It serves as the single official repository for the historical documents of the EU’s institutions, bodies, and agencies and makes these documents available for public consultation and research under the 30-year access rule. The Archives also receives and preserves the collections of private individuals, movements, and associations that have had an important role in the history of European integration.
To celebrate Europe Day, the Archives opens its doors to the public each year for guided visits of the state-of-the-art deposits and its location at the Renaissance Villa Salviati, historical readings and projections from its holdings, concerts, exhibits, and fun activities for people of all ages.
Entry is free and open to the public.
