On May 8 we will celebrate, as every year, Europe Day, to promote European values: Dignity, Freedom, Democracy, Equality, Rule of Law and Human Rights, among the citizens of the rural area of Castilla y León and particularly among young people.

This year we will celebrate our EUROPE DAY in Tordesillas, a municipality in the province of Valladolid with approximately 8773 inhabitants.

It is the most important town in the region of Tierra del Vino in Valladolid, and is bathed by the fertile plain of the Duero River.

We will have the collaboration of the Tordesillas City Council and the LAG Central Zone of Valladolid, and our activities will also revolve around the 40th anniversary of Spain’s accession to the European Union.

• Aimed at: residents of the town and neighboring towns, mayors of the region of Tierra del Vino and Bajo Duero, technicians and directors of the Local Action Groups of the province of Valladolid, the general public and students of CEIP Pedro I, IES Juana I de Castilla, IES Alejandría and Colegio Divina Providencia,
• Place: Plaza Mayor de Tordesillas (Valladolid)
• Hours: from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Program:

1.– Welcome remarks and presentation of the Act. By Víctor Jolín Garijo. Director of the Europe Direct Castilla y León Rural Centre.

2.- Delivery of the Prizes of the different Competitions

3.– Presentation and intervention of the authorities present. –

• Representative of the Provincial Council of Valladolid. To be confirmed
• Representative of the Junta de Castilla y León. To be confirmed
• Representative of the Ministry of Education of the Junta de Castilla y León. To be confirmed.
• Mayor of the Municipality

4.– Tribute to the European Flag:

• Interpretation of the EU Anthem (schoolchildren on the flute and municipal band)
• Raising of the EU flag by a couple of children from the Educational Centers

5.– Closing of the Act.
