The traditional linear economy – manufacturing, using and then throwing away products and raw materials – is a waste of the earth’s resources. Such a model also makes the EU less competitive and less autonomous. This is risky in an increasingly unstable and troubled world. Later this year, the European Commission will present a new legislative proposal on a circular economy – a more sustainable and sustainable model of society – which will also open up new business opportunities for European companies.
Jessika Roswall, who is responsible for the environment, water resilience and a competitive circular economy, talks to Mattias Goldmann, CEO of the 2030 Secretariat, about the opportunities that EU environmental policy entails for Swedish and European companies as well as the financial opportunities that the European Commission offers for researchers and companies active in environmental technology.
